Fifty young Jewish professionals laced up their trainers in Hendon on Sunday for the inaugural Chai 5K Run Club, raising more than £2,250 for the cancer support charity.

Organised by the newly formed Chai Young Professionals Committee, the 5km run marked the group’s first official event – blending fitness, community, and philanthropy.

After completing the route, participants gathered at Chai’s flagship centre to cool down, connect, and enjoy post-run refreshments. A raffle featuring standout prizes – including a £100 floral voucher from Flowers by Miri, three guest passes to David Lloyd Finchley (worth £270), and a meal for four from Kosher Deli – added an extra buzz to the morning.

“We are thrilled with the turnout and the energy on the day,” said Natasha Seitler, Chair of the Chai Young Professionals Committee. “It’s been amazing to see so many young professionals come together for such an important cause. This is just the beginning – we can’t wait to share what’s next!”

The event raised £2,254, all going directly to Chai Cancer Care, which provides expert emotional, practical and medical support to Jewish families affected by cancer.

Sponsored by Ace Lifestyle and JDR Properties Group, the initiative signals a new chapter for younger members of the community looking to give back in meaningful ways.
